——The 13th Representative Assembly of the Yunnan Provincial Federation of Industry and Commerce was grandly held in Kunming.

From September 19 to September 21, 2022, the 13th Representative Assembly of the Yunnan Provincial Federation of Industry and Commerce (General Chamber of Commerce) was grandly held at the Haigeng Auditorium in Kunming. Wang Ning, Secretary of the Yunnan Provincial Party Committee and Director of the Provincial People's Congress Standing Committee, attended the opening ceremony and delivered an important speech. Wang Yubo, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Governor, presided over the opening ceremony. Other attendees included Yang Ning, a member of the Provincial Party Committee and Minister of the United Front Work Department; Qiu Jiang, Secretary-General of the Provincial Party Committee; Zhang Taiyuan, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Congress Standing Committee; Yang Jiawu, Executive Vice Chairman of the Provincial Political Consultative Conference; Gao Feng, Vice Chairman of the Central Democratic League and Vice Chairman of the Provincial Political Consultative Conference; as well as responsible comrades from relevant provincial departments and units, representatives of the assembly, and comrades attending the meeting.

Wang Yubo, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Governor, presided over the opening ceremony. Secretary Wang Ning congratulated on the convening of the assembly on behalf of the Provincial Party Committee, Provincial People's Congress Standing Committee, Provincial Government, and Provincial Political Consultative Conference. He extended sincere greetings to all representatives attending the meeting as well as to non-public economic individuals and industrial and commercial federation staff across the province, delivering an important speech. He pointed out that since the 12th Representative Assembly of the Federation, organizations at all levels have united and led a large number of private economic individuals to fulfill their responsibilities and work diligently. They have achieved new results in building consensus, serving 'two healths', focusing on central tasks to serve overall situations, and playing a bridging role, making positive contributions to high-quality leapfrog development across the province.

Secretary Wang Ning stated that the Federation is a bridge connecting private economic individuals with the Party and government and an assistant for government management and service for private economy. Organizations at all levels should deeply study and implement General Secretary Xi Jinping's important statements on private economic development and Federation work, closely focus on fulfilling responsibilities around the theme of 'two healths' and play their roles. They should regard serving private economic development as their main responsibility, promote policy implementation, reflect enterprise demands, strengthen ideological guidance, assist in optimizing business environments, and promote healthy development of private economy. Secretary Wang Ning further emphasized that supporting private enterprise development is a consistent policy of the Party Central Committee. The Provincial Party Committee and Provincial Government attach great importance to private economic development. Private enterprises should strengthen their confidence in development, correctly understand situations, strive for progress without disappointing expectations, become a strong force in economic development, grow stronger in Yunnan's high-quality leapfrog development, and step onto a broader stage.

The assembly held three plenary sessions, four presidium meetings, and group discussions to review and approve the work report of the 12th Executive Committee of the Yunnan Provincial Federation of Industry and Commerce (General Chamber of Commerce); elected members for the 13th Executive Committee and Standing Committee; discussed basic ideas and key tasks for the next five years for the Yunnan Provincial Federation of Industry and Commerce (General Chamber of Commerce). Mr. Zhang Jianjun, Chairman of Yunnan Power Electric Co., Ltd., Chairman of Laos Power Electric Co., Ltd., and Executive Vice President of Yunnan Overseas Chinese Business Association from the previous Executive Committee attended as an invited guest and was elected as a new Standing Committee member.

Since taking office as a member of the 12th Executive Committee of the Federation, Zhang Jianjun has actively participated in various meetings organized by the Federation as well as policy presentations and training sessions. He has earnestly fulfilled his responsibilities as an executive member while adhering to Party leadership throughout his enterprise's operational development process. He has closely aligned his work with national development strategies while earnestly implementing Party policies. He inherits and promotes the spirit of hard work from previous generations by focusing on practical industries and building brands. He insists on concentrating on business operations while complying with laws to continuously improve operational capabilities and management levels within legal frameworks while striving to enhance enterprise competitiveness. At the same time, he will endeavor to take on more social responsibilities while being a model citizen who is patriotic, law-abiding in business operations, innovative in efforts, and committed to giving back to society.

After listening to Secretary Wang Ning's speech, Chairman Zhang Jianjun felt greatly encouraged along with other representatives attending. Although facing dual pressures from normalized pandemic conditions and economic downturns that present numerous challenges for current business operations, confidence among private entrepreneurs across the province has been strengthened by directives from central authorities which also provide motivation for overcoming difficulties ahead."Only by adhering to 'employees grow together with enterprises; enterprises develop together with partners' can businesses stand at the forefront bravely advancing forward. Only by consistently insisting on 'creating markets through quality; seeking development through brands; promoting progress through technology' can we fundamentally provide customers with high-quality products and services which will ensure our survival amidst fierce market competition. Only by embracing our country while prioritizing social responsibility and people's welfare can enterprises achieve sustainable growth over time."

As a new Standing Committee member, Zhang Jianjun will continuously improve corporate management under correct guidance from both Party and government while earnestly fulfilling his responsibilities as a Standing Committee member. He aims to take on more social responsibilities contributing to both Yunnan's economic social development as well as continuous growth for its Federation.
