The Liuyang South 220 kV substation project is expected to be energized by the end of the year.
Liuyang Net, July 5 (Liuyang Daily reporter Huang Kang) As noon approaches, a group of 'blue' remains active at the construction site of the Liuyang South 220 kV substation project located in Huping Village, Hehua Street. More than 100 construction workers in blue uniforms are busy at the site, with two excavators constantly shuttling back and forth, and the pile driver making a rumbling sound.
"We are currently in the peak period of civil engineering for the main project." Yesterday, as the reporter entered the construction site of the Liuyang South 220 kV substation project, the project manager's party branch secretary Hu Yueliang appeared very excited in front of the bustling construction scene, "All employees are racing against time, striving to start the project acceptance by the end of November and officially put into operation by the end of December."
At the site, the foundation of the main control building of the substation has been raised high, and workers are working hard on the upper structure construction, aiming to complete the civil engineering and transition to electrical installation in two months.
"The Liuyang South 220 kV substation project is not only a key project for Liuyang City but also a key project for the provincial power company." Hu Yueliang introduced that the project covers an area of 44.33 acres with a total investment of nearly 200 million yuan, planned in three phases. The first phase mainly involves constructing one 180 MVA main transformer, with two 220 kV outgoing lines, five 110 kV outgoing lines, and ten 10 kV outgoing lines. "If Liuyang's electricity load grows significantly in the future, the number of main transformers will increase to three in the mid-term."
Yuan Chao, head of the engineering department of the municipal power bureau, told reporters that currently, power supply for Liuyang urban area, southern district, and eastern district is provided by Jili 220 kV substation. With the continuous growth of electricity load in Liuyang, Jili substation has become overloaded. "Moreover, if there is a fault in Jili's power supply unit, it will inevitably affect normal power supply in these areas."
To this end, the newly built Liuyang South 220 kV substation will mainly supply power to Liuyang urban area and southeastern regions while improving grid structure and enhancing power supply reliability. "Once completed, Liuyang's power supply will have double insurance; even if one substation fails, the other can continue to operate to ensure normal power supply in the urban area."
