The large-scale substation project has started, and orderly electricity usage has been implemented again in Taizhou since yesterday.

In the past two days, the highest daytime temperature in our city has frequently exceeded 37 degrees Celsius. Amidst the unbearable heat, the troubles caused by power outages have followed one after another. Many citizens in Jiaojiang District have called in to complain, saying that their homes have experienced power outages two or three times, and their workplaces are no exception, with some even getting stuck in elevators. The Jiaojiang District Power Supply Bureau stated that the recent power outages for residents and some units and enterprises were actually previously announced, caused by the commissioning of the third large substation in Jiaojiang District - the 220 kV Hengli Substation (Zhapu Substation).
It is reported that with the commissioning of the 220 kV Hengli Substation (Zhapu Substation), the supporting 110 kV line renovation project is also scheduled to start between yesterday and tomorrow. During this period of project initiation, the 110 kV Jiazhi Substation, Jiao Yun Substation, Liming Substation, and Phoenix Substation will have to suspend power supply to cooperate with the construction line adjustments.
"Citizens don't need to worry too much; the power outages caused by the project initiation are temporary. Just endure for another two days and it will be over," explained a staff member from the Jiaojiang District Power Supply Bureau.
According to reports, after the commissioning of Hengli Substation, its transmission capacity will reach 360,000 kVA, which is equivalent to a 29.16% increase in Jiaojiang's power supply capacity. The 110 kV Jiazhi Substation, Jiao Yun Substation, and Liming Substation will each supply power through four lines, completely changing the current situation where only two lines provide power. This will provide reliable power supply support for social development in Taizhou's main urban area.
A relevant person in charge from the municipal electric power bureau said: "On the afternoon of July 4th, our city's electricity load reached a peak since summer, hitting 3.74 million kilowatts. If this hot weather continues, the gap will be even larger."
The person in charge stated: "According to the provincial notice, starting from July 5th, our province will implement an A-level orderly electricity usage plan. The 'A-level' plan means a peak shaving of 1 million kilowatts across the province, and our city will also uniformly allocate according to this requirement."
